Why Choose Resurfacing?

Asphalt resurfacing replaces the top layers of pavement with new asphalt. This mill and overlay process is great for restoring old roads, aging parking lots, and worn asphalt driveways. By laying down a new layer of asphalt, you can extend the life of your asphalt parking lot, driveway, or road by another 20 years or so.

The Resurfacing Process

To resurface your asphalt, first the top layers are removed using a specialized machine. This process is called milling. The old asphalt can be recycled and reused in other construction projects. Deep potholes are repaired and the foundation is checked for any major problems and structural issues. Any areas that had standing water can be graded and evened out. Now the asphalt surface is ready for a new application of hot mix asphalt. The top layer is replaced with fresh asphalt, and you have a refreshed road, parking lot, or driveway. Resurfaced pavement feels and looks just like new asphalt.

Save Money with an Asphalt Overlay

If your pavement surfaces are run down, tearing them up and replacing them can be a big expense. There are many layers to asphalt surfaces, and the blacktop is just one piece. Resurfacing allows you to remove small cracks and potholes, uneven surfaces, and other minor problems and replace the top layer. This refreshes the entire asphalt surface without needing to tear up, regrade, and redo the foundation layers.

Mill and Overlay

Asphalt pavement is exposed to a lot of wear and tear. When the surface is no longer smooth, or it has alligator cracking, pooling water, or other problems, resurfacing can restore it. By removing the top asphalt layer, and laying down a fresh, new asphalt surface, you’ll see a dramatic difference in your pavement. It will have a new overall look for a fraction of the cost of replacing your pavement!

Asphalt Repair

If you have just a couple of isolated potholes, patching may be the way to go. Cutting around a pothole, laying a new compacted base, and paving over the patch with hot asphalt is one of the longest lasting ways to fix potholes. We also repair cracks to help prevent potholes from forming. Our experienced paving crews can repair any kind of damage you have on your asphalt parking lot or existing driveway.

Sealcoating

Asphalt sealcoating is another way of refreshing existing asphalt surfaces. Sealing asphalt locks in beneficial oils and helps prevent crumbling, restores the dark color of fresh asphalt, and works as a protective layer blocking UV rays and other damage. For most surfaces, it is recommended that sealcoating is done every 1-3 years. Regular sealcoating and crackfilling of asphalt pavement prevents extensive damage and subbase deterioration.
